Sr. Security Solution Architect

A successful Solutions Architect should be able to present and explain various network communication and infrastructure technologies to customers, guide them through requirements gathering, and formulate a solution consisting of hardware, software, licensing, and engineering services. SAs are responsible for creating scope of work and task lists for various types of projects in support of these solutions. Specific tasks include creation of Bill of Materials for Cisco Hardware/Software solutions, Creation of Consulting Engagements, including pricing of engineering services and creation of Statement of Work. The ideal candidate will have knowledge of Cisco networking, wireless, and security solutions, Palo Alto security solutions, and VMware networking, mobility, and security solutions.

Candidates will need to demonstrate a high level of design experience, implementation experience with the various Cisco, and/or Palo Alto products and technologies is a plus, be highly motivated, excited about learning new products and technologies, and able to effectively communicate ensuring superior customer service and maintaining a strong customer relationship.


Solution Architecture Responsibilities:

•Provide technical expertise/credibility to account team on designated focus area

•Conduct customer presentations on value proposition and technical solution sets for assigned accounts and focus areas

•Assist sales account managers with overall account planning, as it relates to technical aspects of hardware, software, and services opportunity development

•Assist sales account managers with project management for complex presales engagements

•Complete technical sections for RFP/RFI/RFQ responses for assigned accounts

•Assist account teams with collecting customer business and technical requirements and determining recommended solution(s)

•Develop solution architecture and detailed line item configurations/bills of materials (BOMs)

•Develop proposal and/or presentation of recommended solution

•Assist with technical scoping/review for Statement of Work (SOW) for assigned accounts

•Function as liaison to end-user customer technical staff regarding solution and implementation specifics

•Function as a liaison between the sales team and professional services organization to vet solution recommendations and to complete technical portions of the SOW, as appropriate

•Assist sales management with mentoring of junior sales account managers as it relates to overall opportunity management and technical solution set

•Conduct knowledge transfer with SAT members around solution updates, implementation lessons learned, etc., as relevant

•Assist sales team in dealing with customer satisfaction issues surrounding technical aspects of a recommended solution, its implementation or deployment, as needed

•Assist in developing customer get well plan, if applicable

•Assist sales and services management in identifying candidate solution areas for development or investment

•Complete training per development plan and maintain certifications in accordance with focus area

•Assist Services Director with helping improve procedures and functions

•Ensure appropriate coverage for in-process opportunities while out of office for training, vacation, PTO, etc.

•Review relevant human resources policies and procedures as well as conduct and expense guidelines and ensure compliance

•Participate in weekly SAT planning conference calls

Required Skills:

Must have demonstrable design experience with experience in deployment, administration, configuration, or integration, being an advantage. Experience working as a consultant and with Cisco partners is desirable. Candidates should have a strong knowledge of Cisco technologies and products.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience and/or military experience
  • Experience which demonstrates a significant level of expertise in Networking, Security, and Cisco Products
  • Minimum 5 years of experience
  • Pre-sales experiencepreferred
  • Relevant Cisco or industry Certifications
  • CCDA/CCNA or CCNP/CCDP required
  • CCIE/CCDE desirable
  • A Bachelor of Arts or Sciences Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent is preferred
