Sr. Splunk Consultant - Pre and Post Sales

The Senior Splunk Consultant is responsible for post-sales product and service implementation as well as pre-sales design and support. Our consultants have the skills and experience to provide exceptional consulting services to a diverse customer base. Successful Splunk consultants feel comfortable mastering new technologies and come from a variety of business, analytic and technology backgrounds. You will work on projects independently as well as collaboratively as the situation demands, but always with an eye towards education, for both the customer and the team. You will help refine and improve best practices, documentation, and customer collateral as well as domain and vertical specific solutions.


  • Architect, design and implement Splunk Enterprise environments of all sizes
  • Participate in POC (Proof of Concept) topics, meetings, and implementations
  • Support pre-sales activities, including SOW (Statement of Work) development
  • Develop new service offerings and related collateral as directed by leadership
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, training courses and conventions
  • Support customer projects and initiatives as primary point-of-contact
  • Ensure customer communication and satisfaction when project is complete to be sure project has met all proposal objectives and is completed on-time
  • Complete administrative project tasks such as time and expense entry, status reporting, and project completion reporting


  • Splunk Certified Consultant I (SCC I) desired, SCC II and ES certifications preferred (SCC I candidate must be willing to pursue SCC II and ES certifications)
  • Splunk Certified Architect I/II acceptable if candidate has consulting experience across multiple projects and customers, and is willing to pursue SCC II and ES certifications
  • Must be willing to travel (75% or more) within North America (usually continental US)
  • 5-10 years of overall industry experience (IT Operations preferred)
  • 3+ years Splunk experience (ES and/or ITSI experience preferred)
  • Solid understanding and work experience as a technical consultant and/or lead
  • Strong Linux and Windows administration and engineering skills (System Administrator experience preferred)
  • Deep and extensive Internet and Web technology understanding and experience
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills with the ability to analyze and resolve problems quickly
  • Some programming background preferred (Python, PowerShell, shell, Java, etc)
  • Strong sense of self-motivation, and ability to identify problems and develop solutions
  • Ability and willingness to learn new things, and teach/mentor teammates and customers
